Punky first discovered soul and funk records through the Acid Jazz, scooter and rap scene in Gothenburg city in the early 90s. In 1998, Christian co-founded the long-running monthly Soulastatic Soul Club, whose yearly anniversaries attracted significant portions of the European Soul scene DJs and travellers for an impressive 23 years. Regular trips to Los Angeles, playing DJ sets at local soul clubs and events, gradually shifted his style towards Sweet/Group Harmony/Lowrider Soul mixed with Crossover and rare Soul sounds.
Over the years, he has spun records at prestigious clubs and weekenders including Bamberg, Copenhagen Soul Weekend, Liverpool Soul Weekender, Hip City Berlin, Oslo Soul, Stockholm Soul Weekender and, in the States, Sweet Soul Friday (Southern Soul Spinners), Angel City Soul, Funky Sundays, Noche De Alma, Lonely Hearts Club, VFW 1944 and others.
Together with Swedish soul brothers Erik and Björn, Christian recently co-founded their new venture: Underground Soul, where they mix up various sounds and styles at the decks.missed!
